At The Battlegrounds Foundation, we believe exposure can change the direction of a young person’s life.
 
Our mission goes beyond recreation. We are committed to elevation, education, financial literacy, cultural exposure, and creating opportunities for young people to experience life beyond the environments they see every day.
 
For some of the youth in our community, traveling outside of Montgomery is a major experience. Traveling outside of Alabama may feel out of reach. And traveling outside of the United States may be something they have never imagined for themselves.
 
We want to change that.
 
 OUR FIRST STEP: 16 PASSPORTS
 
We are raising $3,840 to provide passports for the 16 high-school students in our program.
 
A passport is more than a little blue book.
It is access and opportunity.
It is the ability to experience new cultures, visit new places, attend educational conferences and festivals, meet people from different backgrounds, and discover a world of possibilities beyond home.
 
And we already know where we want those passports to take us first.
 
 FIRST PASSPORT STOP: TOKYO, JAPAN
 
JUNE 2027
 
Tokyo will give our youth an opportunity to experience a culture, history, lifestyle, food, traditions, technology, and way of life completely different from their own.
 
We don't simply want to tell our teens that there's a bigger world waiting for them. 
We want them to see it for themselves.

Montgomery is home, and we are proud of our city. 
But their dreams should never be limited by the city limits.
